UMS founder: Jeffrey Jansen, President of UMS

Mr. Jansen has held five different positions over the term of his career. Mr. Jansen's post high school education started with Wadena Technical College where he graduated as a lineman electrician. He continued his education by attending night classes at Messabi Community College and numerous other management classes.

• Power Plant Operation Manager for Zeigler/CAT
• General Manager of the Blue Earth Light & Water
• Superintendent of Biwabik Public Utilities
• Lineman & water operator for the Kenyon Municipal Utilities

With thirty years of experience in the electrical and water utility industries, Mr. Jansen has over 25 years in the management role. The management experience has given Mr. Jansen a broad background in utility accounting, financial review, budgeting, operations, project development and management, rate design, State and Federal regulation, policy development with governing boards, customer service and development of business growth opportunities.
